Josefa reinvents herself
Urban Munich with a touch of Italy
From August, guests can look forward to a versatile meeting place at the Platzl: Josefa is evolving into a day bar where urban Munich meets Italian joie de vivre without losing sight of the typical Platzl values. These are expressed in the artisanal details, but also in the partnership with local producers and suppliers - some from the immediate neighbourhood. Italy is palpable in the Josefa when it comes to conviviality, liveliness and coffee enjoyment. It is not without reason that Munich is considered the northernmost city in Italy.
Local, regional and firmly rooted in Munich
While we may have taken some inspiration from our almost-neighbours to the south when designing Josefa, it is not an Italian bar. Firmly rooted in Munich and Bavarian life, we like to experiment with local spirits, source beans from regional coffee roasters and stroll through the Viktualienmarkt to pick up cut flowers for the decorations or fresh herbs for the cocktails.
Artisan charm, cosy and stylishly implemented
We also play with different influences in the ambience. Once again, the design concept comes from the fine pen of the DREIMETA interior designers. Glazed tiles, pottery lamps and dark oak wood create a cosy yet elegant atmosphere. The floral façade painting symbolises the joie de vivre and spirit of optimism of the ‘new’ Josefa.
A meeting place in the heart of the city
The conceptual reorganisation and the associated design will make Josefa even more of a meeting place than before. In the heart of Munich's city centre, people from all over the world can meet, whether local gourmets or well-travelled city tourists, whether business people relaxing or old-timers telling stories. Cosy café and cosmopolitan hotel lobby become blurred, because Josefa is familiar and sociable at the same time.
We look forward to introducing you to her soon!
