FINE DINING IN THE PLATZL VENUES
Munich residents know good food, and we at the Platzl Hotel are always keen to spoil our guests with our own brand of culinary art. Fine Bavarian cuisine and creative bar creations await you in our restaurants in Munich's old town, between Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt and Maximilianstraße.
Two restaurants and an indoor and outdoor bar make up the Platzl gastronomy, which follows our unmistakable philosophy: lively, tradition-conscious, unmistakable, authentically Munich... Stop by now and enjoy fine dining in the heart of Munich!
Whether you're a guest at the PLATZL HOTEL, a resident of Munich out and about in the neighbourhood, or an explorer returning from a stroll through the old town or a guided tour of the city: the Platzl gastronomy offers the right culinary highlight for everyone.
If you prefer something Bavarian fare, our WIRTSHAUS AYINGER AM PLATZL is the place to be. Here, waiters and waitresses in traditional costume serve Bavarian delicacies - from knuckle of pork and beef roulade to traditional platters - accompanied by a cold beer from the Ayinger Privatbrauerei.
If you prefer a more upmarket restaurant, you need only to walk a few metres further: At RESTAURANT PFISTERMÜHLE, we have revived the art of Munich cuisine. The recipes follow old traditions, but the dishes are prepared and presented in a fresh, creative way and with an impressive level of craftsmanship.
The PLATZL KARREE BODEN & BAR in particular offers a cosy open-air ambience - together with the wonderful evening sun in summer and the romantic Christmas magic in winter. Whether for an after-work beer, a glass of champagne before the opera or a hot baked apple in the Advent season.
In 2016, we gave the Platzl hotel bar a makeover - the result is the JOSEFA BAR & KAFFEE, which has since opened in a stylish ambience and boasts a creative, young team of waiters and bartenders. Creative and homemade cocktail creations as well as regular specials and events make the bar a meeting point for Munich residents and hotel guests alike.
Quality, regionality and seasonality - in our Munich gourmet kitchens we only use ingredients from suppliers we know and trust. The culinary “finishing touches” are provided by a dedicated and creative kitchen team that treats the food with the utmost care and respect for the culinary craft.
To further communicate this sustainable philosophy to our guests, we regularly organise indulgence events - from cooking classes to themed weeks to culinary events with our partners. Find out more in our culinary calendar.
If you would like to get to know other restaurants in Munich's old town in addition to Pfistermühle and Ayinger am Platzl, we recommend a culinary tour of the city. Find out more about the best gourmet tours in the Platzl Magazine.
