New traditional Bavarian dress for Platzl’s staff
And once again there is something new to report from Platzl: when you visit us the next time in the heart of Munich’s old town, the Platzl staff will welcome you in new timelessly elegant hotel uniforms. Here you can find out what the traditional Bavarian dress looks like, how they were created and which partners we worked together with.
Two traditional companies working together
Platzl’s long-standing fashion partner of many years, the Ludwig Beck department store was involved in designing the traditional Bavarian dress. The fact that the two traditional companies make a good team has already become clear over the years on various occasions. The smooth completion of the traditional dress project was therefore no surprise – we are more than happy with the new hotel uniforms.
The official handover
The traditional Bavarian dress accentuates a new era at the Platzl, which was introduced at the start of the year with the renovation work and several other changes. It’s all the more wonderful that Ludwig Beck left nothing to chance when handing over the uniforms. Many of the lovely staff from the department store packed the traditional Bavarian dress in bags and marched in single file to deliver them directly to our hotel. It doesn’t get more ceremonial than this!
What they look like!
It was extremely important to those responsible at Platzl that the guests can already recognize by the uniforms that they are a guest at a Munich hotel. As a result, they are not off the peg of course but were especially created for Platzl, as already mentioned above, and combine modern with traditional elements. From now on the ladies will be wearing a gray Dirndl dress with burgundy apron and the men a gray loden cloth waistcoat and traditional applications on the shirt collar. The white shirts are made by Seidensticker and the matching burgundy ties by Seidenfalter Krawattenfabrik.
However carefully we might describe them you cannot beat a personal impression at the end of the day. You can get one yourself on our Facebook page, where you can find wonderful photos of our new hotel uniforms.
