Easter in Munich
Only 10 more days, then the Easter Bunny hops through the awakening of spring in the capital of Bavaria. Thus you can concentrate on finding the hidden eggs and lose no time in search of the best Easter events. You will find our tips for a diverse Easter celebration in Munich.
Easter in the Olympiapark
Throughout the year, one of the most popular open air places in Munich, the Olympiapark, turns into a huge children's paradise on Easter Sunday. The little ones search for giant eggs and can also let their creativity run wild with Easter egg painting. Fairground rides, showmen, handicrafts and entertainment shows provide a funny afternoon.
Market of the Senses
Of course, Easter in Munich is not only fun for the kids - also the big ones get their money's worth. For example, at the Market of the Senses on the Praterinsel. One is reminded of an oriental bazaar out of the Arabian Nights, with its mix of exotic art, fine crafts and creative cuisine from Saturday to Easter Monday.
Even lovers of classical music are in the right place if they celebrate Easter in Munich. On Good Friday Haydn's "Die sieben letzten Worte" swing through the resident court orchestra, while on Easter Sunday Vivaldi will be played in the Allerheiligen-Hofkirche (Court Church of All Saints) and the next day Mozart and Beethoven can be heard at the Cuvilliés-Theater.
Culinary delights at Easter can not only be found in the Market of the Senses, but also at the Easter Brunch. After all, there is hardly any other time that is more popular among brunch friends than Easter. Our insider tip: The Schlosscafé (castle café) in the Palmenhaus of the Schlosspark Nymphenburg: Here you can enjoy Bavarian and international delicacies. A little information on our own behalf: In the Platzl Hotel we regularly organize Brunch Sundays.
Easter at Home
If you want to arrange for a personal Easter brunch in your own home, we recommend: The Viktualienmarkt - here you will find a lot of unusual delicacies and specialties guaranteed to amaze your friends and family. Not only is the food important, the Easter decorations must also be perfect. After all, these occasions within your close circle are too infrequent. Festive Easter floral arrangements are provided by "Blumen Bahlmann", only a few minutes walk from the Platzl Hotel.
The entire team from Platzl wishes you a nice Easter!
