YEAR AFTER YEAR…
It still seems so far away, but soon the tranquil and contemplative time of the year will start again. During this time, the temperatures drop and the city centre is filled wih the aroma of roasted almonds and “Glühwein” (mulled wine).
On 27th November, the Munich Christmas market in the old town will open its gates to visitors from all over the world and will be offering Bavarian specialties, handcrafts, and anything your heart could desire. The focal point will be the 30-meter-high Christmas tree in front of the town hall at Marienplatz, which will appear in full glory with 2,500 candles.
Not far from here, the Christmas village at the Kaiserhof der Residenz (Imperial court) offers a unique charm and festive mood in a spectacular atmosphere. Those who prefer something original should visit the medieval Christmas market at Wittelsbacherplatz. You will feel like you have been transported back to the middle Ages.
A special highlight is also the “Munich Eiszauber” at Stachus, where you can enjoy open-air ice skating. We are looking forward to a wonderful Christmas in our state capital.
