THE PLATZL HOTEL MUNICH WELCOMES ITS NEW DIRECTOR – HEIKO BUCHT
The Platzl Hotel Munich would like to introduce you to HeikoBuchta, our new director. The qualified business manager and sales and marketing specialist is highlyexperienced with the Munich hotel market and has this to say about his new position: “For me, this job is a bit like coming home.” As of now, Heiko Buchta is responsible for the 167 rooms and 130 employees working at the Platzl Hotel Munich, as well as for managing the “Pfistermühle” restaurant and “Ayingers Inn”.
After successfully graduating with a degree in business management fromSaarland University in Saarbrücken, the Wolfratshausen native was successful in entering the hotel industry as a marketing representative and account manager at the Sheraton Hotel Munich. He then moved to London where he took a position asAccount Manager Meetings & Incentives at ITT Sheraton Hotels UK. Back in Germany, HeikoBuchtasubsequently worked as the sales &marketing directorof “The Westin Bellevue Hotel” in Dresden and by 2000 he was established as the marketing representative at the “Starwood-Hotels” in southern Germany, where he managed the marketing of nine hotels and 2,100 rooms. HeikoBuchta´s networking skills and his strategic way of thinking led to him becoming the managing director of both“Four-Points-houses” in Munich in 2005. For his next step, the business manager and industry expert took the post of General Manager at the Sheraton Hotel Munich Westpark. In 2009, HeikoBuchta then moved from the Isar to the Main to represent the flagship hotel of the Arabella Hospitality Group, “The Westin Grand Frankfurt,” as General Manager. Now he is returning as the managing director of the four star superior hotel, “Platzl Hotel Munich” in the Bavarian state capital.
Due to the knowledge and the skills HeikoBuchta brings with him, the quality and standards of our hotel are certainly ensured and they may even be exceeded. The Platzl Hotel Munich is looking forward to having a new face at management level as well as a successful future together!
