The green city – the most beautiful city parks of Munich
Maximiliansanlagen (Maximilian Park)
Characterized by the 38-meter-high angel of peace in the center, the 30-acre park with many terraces invites you to relax. The park is located right on the river Isar and passes through the Bogenhausen and Haidhausen districts. The Maximilian Park in Munich is the ideal place for a short break during the sightseeing program. Here are often significantly less people than in the world-famous English Garden.
Petuelpark (Garden areas on the Petuelring)
For years, the two city districts Schwabing and Milbertshofen were separated by one of Munich’s main roads, the “Mittlerer Ring”. But the two landscape architects Jühling and Bertram got the idea to roll the traffic in a tunnel and create a modern and beautiful city park with a long promenade for leisurely and numerous walks, lawns and play areas. Since the year 2004, the Petuelpark is a green oasis, not only for the residents, located where once drove thousands of cars every day.
