The Bavaria Filmstadt in the south of Munich offers 300,000 square meters of exciting insights into the origins of well-known movies and television series. Currently, you can admire the elaborately designed scenery of the action movie “Big Game”, which is being filmed with Samuel L. Jackson in the lead role, together with the reconstructed Air Force One and its escape capsule. In addition, you will be offered a live view into the broadcast studio of the first German auction channel 1.2.3.tv and you will be able to discover the vampire bar from the film “Vampire Sisters 2″.
Moreover, you can also explore the film sets of great cinema classics such as “Das Boot” or “The Neverending Story” in a 90-minute guided tour through the scenery streets adjacent to film ateliers and large film studios. Since 2012, in addition to the existing attractions, such as the reception of the Hotel Fürstenhof from the telenovela “Sturm der Liebe” (Storm of Love), the Viking village “Flake” from “Wicki und die Starken Männer” (Wicki and the Strong Men) and the ice cave from “Wicki auf großer Fahrt” (Wicki on a Long Journey), you can marvel at the technically sophisticated reconstructions of the suites of the Munich Residenz from the movie “Ludwig II”. For those with talent in reporting, since 2013 visitors have had the opportunity to present the weather in front of a studio backdrop.

With the cinema release of “Lissi und der wilde Kaiser” (Lissi and the Wild Emperor), the Michael Bully Herbig collection began in the Bavaria Filmstadt in 2007. Experience the Wild Emperor Ride in the 4D cinema with moving cinema seats and breathtaking sounds and special effects.

The absolute highlight for fans of Michael Bully Herbig is the 1,500-square-foot interactive film discovery world “Bullyversum”, where you can explore among other things his three major feature films “Der Schuh des Manitu” (Manitou’s Shoe), “(T)Raumschiff Surprise-Periode 1″ (Dreamship Surprise-Period 1) and “Lissi und der wilde Kaiser” (Lissi and the Wild Emperor). With attractions such as the Journey with the Golden Bed, Mozart’s ball shooting in the garden of Castle Schöngrün and a Dreamship Surprise live film shoot, there is much to discover here for everyone. You can also let yourself be enchanted by the “Hui Buh – Das Schlossgespenst” (Hui Buh -The Castle Ghost) 3D cinema show, and then prove your talent as a voice actor in a scene. And the best thing is that afterwards you will receive feedback from Bully! In total, “Bullyversum” offers around 300 original exhibits – including props and costumes from Bully’s new movie “Buddy”, 2D and 3D projections and many hands-on activities. The Platzl Hotel Munich hopes you have a great time!
