Event highlights in Munich in the first half of 2014

The year 2013 is drawing slowly to a close and we look forward to a joyous end of the year. The city of Munich has prepared itself well again in 2014 with event highlights for visitors and locals. Appasionata the new show (04.01.-06.01.2014 in the Olympic Stadium)

New year concert by the Munich Symphony Orchestra (06.01.2014, at 11 am in the Prince Regent Theatre)

Welcome in the year 2014 with the annual New Year’s concert of the Munich Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Carlos Domínguez-Nieto. The new Lenbachhaus – Guided tour of the collection areas – The Blue Rider (11.01.2014, at 2 pm)

Discover the new Lenbachhaus with the world’s largest collection of art from the “Blue Rider”, which was one of the most important artists groups of the avant-garde at the beginning of the 20th century. In 1957, on the occasion of her 80th birthday, Gabriele Münter donated to the Lenbachhaus over 1,000 works of the “Blue Rider” which made the “Städtische Galerie” in the Lenbachhaus into a world-class museum. A tribute to ABBA – ABBA THE SHOW (02.02.2014, at 7 pm in the Olympic Stadium)

The globally successful multimedia artist André Heller and his fascinating circus extravaganza “AFRICA! AFRICA!” belong to one of the greatest successes in international show business! Bavarian RUN in the Olympic Park Munich (06.07.2014)

Be there on 6/7/2014 at 4 pm when the starting gun goes off for the Bavarian RUN in Munich’s Olympic Park and cheer on the runners loudly. This traditional 11 km run brings together athletes and running enthusiasts from all over Bavaria – it’s not just about sports, fitness and exercise, but also social commitment and responsibility.
