Since 1955, 32 teams have competed in the group stage of the Champions League, the most important European club competition. The Bavarian record holders have already succeeded winning the Champions League five times.

The triple champion will also defend the title in the Bundesliga and the DFB Cup. The famous Munich soccer team is ready to face these challenges together with their new coach Josep Guardiola.

New Developments for the Champions

Munich’s soccer team has prospectively committed to new coach Pep Guardiola until June 2016. The Spaniard has twice won the Champions League with FC Barcelona and will now seek to lead Munich’s traditional club to the title again. The midfield will be bolstered by the new signings of Mario Götze and Thiago Alcántara. Other new additions include Jan Kirchhoff, Nils Petersen and Mitchell Weiser.
