Platzl Adventconcert at Alter Peter (St. Peters Church)

A beautiful tradition of the Advent in the Alps region is the custom of the Adventconcert. In the form of songs, stories and music, the biblical story of Mary and Joseph searching for shelter and the waiting for Jesus Christ, is told. The Alp region is home to a sheer endless variety of traditional songs about the Christmas Story.

The Platzl Hotel lives this tradition by organizing such a concert for guests and friends on an annual basis. The concert takes place in the church of St. Peter (Alter Peter) which is located just next to the Marienplatz. At the concert you can hear classic and traditional pieces of the organ as well as vocal pieces. This year’s program is performed by the young vocal ensemble “InTakt” from Regensburg and the organist Maximilian Betz. Being the oldest mentioned church of Munich, St. Peter also offers a unique ambiance for the concert.

This year’s collection supports young adults in the Holy Land. It is meant to enable them to visit an educational institution of the “Lateinisches Patriarchats von Jerusalem zu dem auch Bethlehem gehört.”

We would like to invite you cordially to this inspiring evening.

A reservation is not necessary.
